happy?

Life is a progression of severity.

A road of hairpin turns,
And cliff-top cartwheels.

Who would not want that drug called happiness?

Not I.

For it seems a ridiculous notion,

like making love,

because its all about
keeping your clothes off,

and keeping
your mind off of her.

its about the ridiculous pursuit of happiness

why can't we be happy being content?

rather than trying harder and harder to entertain ourselves ;)

thanks for the comment

merry christmas and a happy new year ! :holly:

nonsensical compliment:
Once again you put me to shame, love it, just love it!

useful critisism:
I think you could lose the 'of' in the last line, and I do love how you use bold and italics, appearances are everything on dA when it comes to poetry

I really like this one, so simple and yet asks a complex question. Well put my dear

I really like this one. Not that I don't others, but this one strikes a particularly resonate note with me. The wording is excelent. "cliff-top cartwheels" and "because its all about/ keeping your clothes off" are probably my favourites.

i'm a little sketched out by the bold...it looks....somehow not right....but if you like it, i think it's fine :) doesn't ruin the writing at all....very useful question as well. I'd rather have an interesting, slightly messed up life than a boring perfect one any day :D

merry evening before the day before the night before Christmas!
